The Yurok people bid you huem-chor (welcome)! Our adventure guides know this region better than anyone, and are happy to provide “insider” insights to help you make the most of your trip. Consider experiencing these tribally owned attractions:
Klamath River Jet-Boat Tours – This 50-mile scenic adventure zips you up and down the mighty Klamath. The tour includes narrated cultural and natural history of the area; jet boat trips are a great way to spot wildlife, too; bears and eagles are sometimes seen feeding on salmon along the river. All ages will enjoy the unique adventure. Groups of all sizes welcome. (Open May thru October)
Su-Mêg Village – Experience a slice of Yurok life at this re-created seasonal village at nearby Patrick’s Point State Park. Su-Mêg features traditional family houses, a sweathouse, changing houses, a redwood canoe and a dance house.
Klamath River Fishing Guides – Blue Creek Guide Service specializes in salmon and steelhead fishing trips on all of the North Coast Rivers. His guide service also offers an array of other trips including scenic tours, bio-cultural tours, and diving trips. He guides out of his 22 foot jet boat or 17 foot drift boat. Full day and half day trips are available.
If you happen to visit us in August, make plans to attend the Klamath Salmon Festival, which features live music, handmade gifts from more than 100 vendors… and of course, fresh salmon!
